Hello, friend!
Thanks for visiting.

I'm Daniel, and I'm running for Dublin City Council in the November 3, 2026 election.

I hope you find what you need here and that I can earn your support. Thank you, and take care.

"Who are you, anyway?"

I'm just a regular person with dreams for the future trying to do my part for a better world, starting with my local community.

I'm also your neighbor in Dublin, where my family and I have lived for more than 5 years and where we want to continue calling home for many more years to come.

I'm someone who is willing to step up, listen to our community, and do what's right for all of us.

"What are your priorities for Dublin?"

Dublin is a great place to live, and residents are happy with life here.

People generally feel safe, welcomed, and think the city is doing a good job.

But that doesn't mean we don't face challenges now or that new things won't pop up.

The good news:

I have plans to keep Dublin being that great place we love.

Here's what we should do:

1

Grow Our City

Development projects bring in more money!  We also get more businesses, good-paying jobs, housing options and facilities – all here in our neighborhood.  And if we do it right, we can build character, too – Downtown Dublin, anyone?

2

Balance the Budget

Dublin is still growing, but projected to reach full build-out by 2040.  This means we need other ways of generating income to avoid a looming deficit.  I'll keep our budget healthy with smart choices to make money and save money.

3

Make Homes More Affordable

Homes are expensive in the Bay Area, but did you know that Dublin has initiatives like below-market-rate homes for sale and rent, as well as first-time homebuyer loans?  I'll support ways to make housing more affordable for more of us.

4

Keep People Safe

Dublin is one of the safest cities in the region, and I want to keep it that way.  That means continuing to support our police, fire department, and community programs with the resources we need to keep everyone safe.

5

Reduce Traffic Problems

New transportation projects and upgrades like the Dublin Blvd extension, Village Pkwy reconstruction, and Tassajara Rd widening help keep our quality of life high.  I'll support ways to cut what nobody wants: traffic jams and bad roads.

Check out my Dublin Priorities page, which expands on these points and to learn more my vision and thoughts on our city.

"Why should I support you?"

Fair question!  Here are 3 reasons to consider:

  1. My community involvement and service in official roles and volunteer work in Dublin;

  2. My qualifications and approach as a professional researcher with an open ear to listen and a trained mind for answers; and

  3. My principles and priorities of serving with integrity, putting people first, and making tomorrow better than today.

My community involvement

I currently serve as an officer on the Dublin Unified School District (DUSD) Citizens Bond Oversight Committee and on the Shamrock Hills School Parent Faculty Club.

I've also been on other city and school district bodies, including a Public Art Selection Committee, the Shamrock Hills Principal Candidate Review Committee, and the Shamrock Hills Design Team.

When my daughter was at Murray Elementary, I actively participated in Parent Faculty Club meetings and fundraising efforts, among other things.

(I was also Eli, the school's cougar mascot, at the St Patrick's Day Parade in Dublin for 2 years.)

In 2024, I was a finalist to fill an unexpected vacancy on the DUSD Board of Trustees.

I don't just say I care about our community – I care enough to get involved and do the work.

My qualifications and approach

I'm a user experience researcher by profession. It's a research-based field that's rooted in psychology and often applied in tech. (Incidentally, I hold degrees in Psychology and Computer Science.)

My research work for more than 10 years involved understanding people's experiences – through interviews, surveys, observations, and other means – then turning what I learned into ways to make things better for people. In my previous journalism career spanning 7 years, I was also a writer then a copy editor at a national newspaper.

These experiences have several things in common:

  • Listening and understanding what people want; and

  • Using data to make informed decisions.

That's what I've been doing professionally for much of my life, and that's the kind of people-centered approach I'll bring to City Council.

My principles and priorities

My philosophy in life is the same as in work:

Do good and make things better for people.

I believe it's important to treat others with kindness and fairness, and that we succeed by making the world a better place not just for ourselves but for others too. To me, that means using the tools we have, including government, laws, and systems, to make society better for everyone.

Things I care about include:

  • Democratic principles, like holding fair elections and public participation in government;

  • Human rights, like being free to speak your mind and live your life the way you want;

  • Social safety nets, like meeting basic needs for food, shelter, healthcare, and education;

  • Workers' rights, like fair wages, fair treatment, safe workplaces, and rights to organize; and

  • Societal progress, like promoting happiness, knowledge, culture, and the environment – things beyond just economic indicators.

These are the kinds of values that shape my views on the policies I'll support.
